#Strikeapose to support triathlon stars at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games

Published:

British Triathlon is calling all triathlon fans and the British sporting public to #Strikeapose and create a unique celebration ‘pose’ to represent the sport at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Launched this week, the campaign delivered in partnership with the Home Nations, Triathlon England, Welsh Triathlon and triathlonscotland will run in the lead up to the free-to-view triathlon events that take place on 24 and 26 July.

Participants are encouraged to upload a suggested celebratory pose or vote for their favourite via British Triathlon’s Facebook and Twitter channels as well as www.britishtriathlon.org/strikeapose, before the closing date of 21 July.

The first 100 entries will receive a signed image from competing triathletes at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. A winning pose will be chosen by a panel of triathletes on British Triathlon’s UK Sport Lottery funded World-Class Programme following the creation of a top-ten shortlist of poses voted on by the public. The winning pose may even be adopted during the triathlon events themselves.

Jodie Stimpson, a member of Team England can’t wait to see the entries coming in, commenting: "I hope people will have fun coming up with some triathlon celebrations as part of #Strikeapose! With only a couple of weeks to go until the Games I am starting to get really excited now and really want to deliver my best performance possible in front of what we hope will be a big crowd. If the winning pose is good then maybe the race winners will do it, we’ll see!”

The winner will receive a signed piece of merchandise from the leading Home Nation team along with a photo of the winning pose.
