Triathlon Coaches Named as Finalists at UK Coaching Awards

Triathlon coaches Malcolm Brown and Jack Maitland have been named as finalists in the High-Performance Coach of the Year category of the 2009 UK Coaching Awards.
The two coaches based in Leeds have had an incredible year having coached Alistair Brownlee to five victories in the Dextro Energy Triathlon – ITU World Championship Series races and successfully crowned the young Yorkshireman: World Champion.
The success didn’t stop there with Jonathan Brownlee becoming Junior European Champion as well as winning a silver on the Gold Coast in the Junior ITU Triathlon World Championships.
They have also been instrumental in the Leeds Metropolitan University triathlon squad which nurtured the talents of 2009 UK Ironman Champion Phil Graves and his younger sister Vicky Graves, Junior Duathlon European Champion.
The winner of the award supported by UK Sport will be announced on 8 December in a ceremony at Old Billingsgate in London.
