The qualification races for the Great Britain Age-Group Team get underway this weekend, with a number of spaces up for grabs at the Dambuster Duathlon. The event will take place on Saturday 7 March and provides the first opportunity of the 2015 season to qualify for the team.
Dambuster Duathlon is the first qualification event for the 2015 Adelaide ITU Standard Distance Duathlon World Championships and will see duathletes battle it out in the picturesque setting of Rutland Water in Leicestershire.
The course opens with a 10km run around the lake and across the dam, allowing duathletes to keep close eye on their competition. However , competitors should keep a little left in the tank and not push the pace too much as the 42km bike incorporates the infamous Rutland Ripple – a rolling row of hills – before a final 5km out-and-back burst for the line.
The Great Britain Age-Group Team presents the opportunity for Home Nation members to qualify and compete at international level. Great Britain has a history of success at every international championship in which the team competes, with 260 medals won in 2014.
For duathletes who miss the chance to qualify at Dambuster Duathlon, the Oulton Park Duathlon (15 March) and Clumber Park Duathlon (21 March) provide two further opportunities to make the team for the 2015 ITU World Championships.

Three weekends of top-class racing, culminating in the British Duathlon Championships at Clumber Park - and that’s just the start of the season for us.”
For the first time at a qualification event, Live Timing of the event will be available via www.britishtriathlon.org, allowing you to follow the action as it unfolds throughout the day.
The deadline to register your intent to qualify at Dambuster Duathlon on www.britishtriathlon.org is 5pm on 6 March 2015.
