Helen Jenkins and Liam Lloyd win British Elite Standard Distance Titles

Helen Jenkins put in a commanding performance at The London Triathlon to take the overall win and the British Elite Standard Distance Championship, putting behind her the disappointments of a last week at the Rio test event. Liam Lloyd battled with Peter Ker of Australia, not quite strong enough to take the overall win, but first British Athlete, taking the Gold medal in the British Championship. Iestyn Harrett finished 4th overall and 3rd in the British Champions. Morgan Davies who won the British Sprint Championships 2 weeks ago in Liverpool and a pre race favourite was unlucky to get caught behind a crash early on the bike and couldn’t bridge up to the front group settling for 9th place, good enough for him to take the overall Super Series title.

In the Youth race Issy Morris  continued her run of good form with a win in the youth girls, closely followed home by Abbie Williams.  Tomos Nesham was 10th in the Youth Boys. In the Elite Junior racing Rhiannon Middleton made a return to racing after injuries finishing 6th and Ieuan Cooke finished 12th in the Jnr Mens event.

In Hungry at the Tiszaujvaros ETU Cup, Bronwen Owen finished 2nd in the Jnr Womens events, once again with a blistering  run. Ffion-Haf Harrett was forced to pull out on the run, being well placed after the swim and bike sections.
