Paratriathlon Clubs

Whether you want to learn more about the sport, meet other people who also take part, or increase the quality of your training, often the best place to look first is your local club.

Welsh Triathlon has many clubs situated throughout the country who can offer all of the things mentioned about; please take a look here to find your local club .

When looking for a club, the key to look for is the quality of that club, and what it can offer you, therefore never be afraid of looking around, and even contacting the club to find out more.

Welsh Triathlon offer an accreditation system for clubs, which has been running since 2005, and this is split into two main categories of adult and junior (Star and Club Mark) and in turn these are both split down into 3 main levels as follows, and we would recommend looking out for accredited clubs when deciding upon which might be best for you:
  • Introductory / New club
  • Established / Good Quality Club
  • Club exceeding standards
In 2010 British Triathlon began the process of linking paratriathlon to these levels, so clubs could gain a better understanding of any additional requirements through to being able to create a highly effective paratriathlon club.

These three levels are linked together with the new club accreditation system and more information on this can be found here.

If your club is interested in developing its knowledge within paratriathlon, please contact your Regional Programme Manager  for more information on how to get started.
