PACE

The PACE programme has been developed to support clubs in developing holistic triathlon environments for athletes aged 13-18. It incorporates guidance, resources & coach development support built upon the PACE principles.

What does PACE stand for?

PACE is an acronym that is based on the underpinning principles that the programme is built upon

  • Person- understand the needs of the individual and develop environments where they can thrive
  • Athlete- develop athletes in a holistic way, underpinned by evidence based coaching and research
  • Champion- long-term engagement in sport is the number one priority and we should have champions across the sporting domain from performance through to participation.
  • Environment- the time and place in which sports participation and development happens and therefore the greatest influencer of long term engagement and holistic development

In line with our new strategy, we want to ensure that there are inclusive triathlon activities within 15 miles of every person in Wales and the PACE programme will help us in achieving this.

PACE adds an additional layer of support to ensure that junior clubs are not only accessible to all but also providing the best experience for young people in our sport.

By combining these two programmes, PACE and INSPORT we have a truly holistic accreditation process that has accessibility at its heart.
