Gemau Cymru is a bilingual multi-sport event for young athletes in the Welsh sporting calendar organised and delivered by the URDD in partnership with other NGBs. Gemau Cymru is the only event in Wales that offers a platform for the best Welsh youth athletes to compete against each other within one event. Triathlon is one of 11 sports that have confirmed their involvement in Gemau Cymru for 2018.
Since the games began in 2011 Welsh Triathlon has been an integral partner and the triathlon competition has grown year on year. Welsh Triathlon is delighted that this year the event has moved North to Bala.
Gemau Cymru is also happy that Swim Wales will again be working in partnership with Welsh Triathlon confirming two swimming competitions to this year’s line: the swimming gala in Cardiff and a new open water race introduced at Bala. This ensures a full weekend of competitive competitions across Wales. It also cements Bala as the perfect venue to hold water element sport events.
