In what will bring a new dimension to the domestic National Championships. Welsh Triathlon will be sending a team to the British Sprint Championships in Nottingham on Saturday 15th June. Each athlete in Tim Tri Cymru will be racing in an exclusive Tri suit and kit.
The team will meet on Friday eveing for a team meal and get together with their families and staff from Welsh Triathlon, followed the next day by an early breakfast and then head to race registration.
The first wave will start at 08:00am.
Tim Tri-Cymru Manager, Amy Jenner, says
“I’m thoroughly looking forward to assisting the Tim Tri Cymru representatives at Nottingham this year. This is a great opportunity to lead the way and for us to showcase how passionate Welsh Triathletes are on a British stage”.
Events Officer, Gareth Evans, stated
“This is an exciting opportunity for Welsh Triathlon and its members to show what can be achieved within domestic age group racing. We’re a passionate bunch at the best of times, so the opportunity to go to a British Championship as one team, wear the Dragon and represent Tim Tri-Cymru against our English and Scottish counterparts is one we hope captures the imagination and grows in 2020”.
How did they qualify? The highest placed Welsh Triathlon Member within each gender/category at the 2019 SWYD Triathlon Barry Island which took place on Sunday 26th May 2019 was invited to attend, and a roll down list was devised for those who were unable to take their spot.
