What is your spirit biscuit?

Rich Tea. Just like it's dunkability - I am a fan and big believer of reliability and endurance, strength and survival. And of course, typically British!

When did you first start triathlon and why?

My first Triathlon was in Ludlow in 2016. I had run London Marathon earlier in the year and was suffering from shin splints as a result of that so had started to bike to maintain fitness. I wasn't great (and this continues to be the case!) at swimming at the time but a Triathlon sounded like more fun than just swimming, biking or running in isolation

What is your best memory of a triathlon in Wales?

Harlech, in April 2018. This was the opening race of the 2018 season and my coldest experience of Triathlon to date!! I loved the challenge of pushing up to the misty castle at the end and discovered that I am terrible at (and also hate!!) running on sand!!

What is your favourite Triathlon to race in Wales?

Without a doubt Cardiff. I have two very different experiences of racing in Cardiff. In 2017 the weather was so awful - absolutely freezing - gail force winds and hail. In 2018 the weather was absolutely lovely - so warm and sunny, perfect tanning weather! Cardiff is an iconic city to race in and the support of the crowd is always immense. Despite two very different weather scenarios, I loved both experiences. The bay is a great place to swim and the bike and run courses are relatively flat which makes it a really fast and exciting course. The people spirit in Cardiff has just been incredible on both occasions.

What is your favourite motivational saying?

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" (Kelly Clarkson)

What does joining this team mean to you?

I feel privileged to join Tim Tri Cymru and proud to be able to have recognition for my training efforts and race for Wales. I feel that it is a good opportunity to represent and encourage our Welsh Triathletes of the future and not just stimulate people to consider trying triathlon but to motivate people in general of all ages to become more active and physically fitter

Who is your favourite sports person?

Non Stanford. She is an amazing Triathlete, and she is Welsh!
