Rhondda triathlon club updates us on how they have been engaging with each other during this period of social distancing.

"Our coach volunteers are keeping in touch with members via the Rhondda Tri closed Facebook group. We ask members what they are doing to keep occupied during their spare time at the moment and encourage them to respond on our page to start conversations and share ideas. We also encourage people to keep up some form of training following government guidelines to ensure they are keeping safe but are still active. Be that some turbo training, using there once daily outdoor exercise or some strength and conditioning. Members post pictures on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter of them training to help with motivation, and interactions also take place on these social media platforms.

The club sessions have been canceled and we have adapted by members riding/running individually. Many Rhondda Tri members also upload their training to Strava where we also interact. Staying up to date with each other's training and keeping us motivated to keep our own training going during this time too. Some other members also meet up on Zwift for informal riding sessions together.

A few members have signed up for the NHS ride 1,000 miles in May. Other members joined Ryan Jones via Zwift for the 100 for 100 NHS challenge. Some members joined Geraint Thomas via Zwift when he rode his 12hr sessions raising money for the NHS.

We also have several members who work in the NHS or are key workers such as the police and supermarket workers. We would like to thank them for continuing to work through this period."
