Welsh Triathlon have today launched the tender process for National Championship and National Series events for 2018.
We are pleased to be able to invite bids from Event Organisers to host National Championship Events for the 2018 season.
The annual bidding process gives event organisers of permitted events the opportunity to host Welsh Triathlon National Championship races.
The following Welsh Triathlon National Championships are included in the bidding process this year:
- Sprint Distance Triathlon
- Standard Distance Triathlon
- Middle Distance Triathlon
- Aquathlon
- Cross Duathlon (mountain biking and cross country running)
- 2X Non-Championship Series events
Welsh Triathlon National Series
All National Championship events will form part of the National Series. In addition to this we wish to award two further events series status to form an eight-race competition.
Ideally these two series races will be sprint distance or equivalent to allow for an enlarged Youth and Junior Series. However, exceptional bids from longer distance events will still be considered.
The Sprint Distance Duathlon Championships were awarded to the Harlech Duathlon on a three year contract, set to end in 2019. Multi-year bids have now been discontinued as a Welsh Triathlon policy.

The closing date for applications is 5pm on Friday 25th August.
The National Championship events are open to all athletes, but only Welsh Triathlon members will be eligible for the National Championship Medals.
Details of the National Championship events for 2018 will be posted on our website once agreements have been signed with the Event Organisers. This will be by the end of September 2017.
