Edibility and Prizes
To be eligible for the series competitors need to Welsh Triathlon members.
Age categories are worked out from age as of 31st December 2013.

Series Scoring System
Athletes have to be Welsh Triathlon members to be included in the series ranking.
T1 – best 3 out of 5 events
T2 – best 4 out of 6 events
Gemau Cymru – double points.
Athletes at each event in the Tristars Series (male and female) will receive points as follows:
1st place -100 points
2nd place - 90 points
3rd place-85 points
4th place-80 points
5th place-75 points
6th place-70 points
7th place-65 points
8th place-60 points
9th place-55 points
10th place-50 points
11th place-49 points
12th place-48 points
13th place-47 points
Etc to: 59th Place = 1 Point
Each athlete’s three best scores from the five race series for T1 athletes and best four events from six for T2 and T3 athletes will count towards the series ranking points. Points scored in races other than the best three finishes races for T1 and best four T2 and T3 will be discounted. The Gemau Cymru event, on 7th July will have double points, so 200points for 1st, 180points for 2nd, 175points for 3rd and so on.
This formula will run through all events, and the male and female elite athletes with the most points from their selection of three races shall win the Tristars Series. In the event that two athletes have the same number of points, the following mechanism for identifying the winner shall be applied
The athlete with the highest number of first place finishes will be placed above the other athlete with the same number of points. If both athletes have the same number of first place finishes:
The athlete with the highest number of second place finishes will be placed above the other athlete with the same number of points. If both athletes have the same number of second place finishes
The athlete with the highest number of third place finishes will be placed above the other athlete with the same number of points. And so on until a winner is identified
In the event that two athletes are still tied after applying this mechanism, the tied athletes will be deemed to be equal for the two positions they occupy.
