Would you like to be trained to Tutor our future Coaches?

Welsh Triathlon are looking to recruit Tutors from all over Wales to deliver the UKCC Level 1 and 2 Coaching Courses in Triathlon.

Coach Educator Selection Criteria / Expectations

Essential

  • A qualification at A level equivalent or above, in a relevant discipline, e.g. sports science, physical education, strength and conditioning or sports coaching
  • Minimum of A British Triathlon or 1st4sport UKCC Level 2 Coaching qualification
  • Actively coaching, with a demonstration of a minimum of 60 hours of active triathlon coaching
  • A positive attitude towards the development of coaching and support the aims and objectives of Welsh Triathlon's Coach Education Programme
  • Access to a motor vehicle

 Desirable

  • Experience of tutoring and/or facilitation/ lecturing
  • Experience/ Qualification in Assessing
  • A working knowledge of portfolio or NVQ based Qualifications.
  • Hold or working towards Level 3  coaching (triathlon) qualification.

While these criteria serve as a useful guide, we will consider an application from anyone who feels they are suitably qualified.

Expected Level of Involvement of Coach Education Tutors:

We expect our Coach Educators to:

  • Deliver the Coach Education programme on courses to a high standard of professionalism.
  • Deliver courses at weekends, when required between the months of September and June.
  • Attend specific tutor and assessor training courses  *
  • Represent the department, and Welsh Triathlon, in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  • Satisfy the expectations of the course candidates
  • Set aside an appropriate amount of time before the course to prepare material and plan any activities
  • Be available for candidate support during and post-course
  • Be available for additional development training, either online or face to face meetings.

Successful candidates would be engaged on a self employed basis with a flat rate fee of £260-£265 per day.

  • The training requirements are currently under review. This will either be an internal course, or candidates may be required to gain the required qualifications themselves. Successful candidates may be required to fund this training, unless they already hold the qualifications or equivalent.
