The Welsh Triathlon Tristar Series is almost upon us, with the 2019 series kicking off at the Cerist Aquathlon in Machynlleth. The Calendar sees a wide range of multisport activities across the country, ranging from Aquathlons, Duathlons, Pool based and open water triathlons.

This seasons’ event kicks off in Machynlleth where Cerist Triathlon club run the Junior Aquathlon on Sunday 28^th April. May is one of the busier months where the first IRC qualifier of the season at Llanelli on Saturday 11^th May is sandwiched by Ruthin junior Triathlon on Sunday 5^th May and the Stephen Lewis Aquathlon on Sunday 26^th May.

June is another busy month, with Cardiff Junior Triathlon hosting the event at Maindee Leisure Centre on Saturday 8^th June before heading North for a double header, starting at Denbigh Junior Triathlon on Sunday 23^rd June before the second IRC qualifier of the season takes place at Bala on Saturday 29^th June.

A double header in July sees the Conwy Junior Tri taking place on the 14^th at Mold Leisure centre, before heading back down South the following weekend with the Pembrokeshire Junior Triathlon taking place on Sunday 21^st.

The final IRC qualifier takes place at Parc Bryn Bach on Saturday 3^rd August before the series finale heads to Mid Wales at the Aberystwyth Junior Triathlon on Saturday 31^st August.

All events will be open for Tristars 1,2 and 3 with some of them also offering Tristart Waves.  With four events counting towards the total scores this year, the series now offers multiple opportunities to put training methods into practice within a race environment.

Series participants will need to pre-register prior to the series taking place so Clubs or Parents will need to register their children with Welsh Triathlon by emailing in a copy of their Welsh Triathlon Membership Card as well as their affiliated club to WT-Events@WelshTriathlon.org.  This can be done at any point within the season, but only events following receipt of the email will be included. (So, if you send the email on June 1^st, your child’s results from April and May won’t be counted).
