Iestyn Harrett

Age : 30

Coach : Luke Watson

Hometown : Glynneath

Triathlon Background : I have been competing in triathlon for the past 20 years and racing internationally as an elite/pro for over 10 years.

Best result/s : Multiple podium positions at Continental Cup/European Cup level.

Silver medal in the MTR at Birmingham CWG.

Favourite thing about Triathlon : Spending a lot of time outdoors, surrounded by nature.

Best thing about training at the centre : The training group. Being surrounded by friends, likeminded individuals, and top-level athletes.

Favourite race : Holten ETU cup. I’ve raced it 9 times as a triathlete. It was the first Junior cup I went to on my own which turned out to be one grand adventure. It was the first time I represented GBR in a championship. U23 European Champs. The whole town shuts down for the race. The course is epic, the crowds are great, and the competition is always stiff. An iconic event.

Favourite session : 16 x 1km reps. Looking to average 3:00 with 60sec recovery.

Non-Triathlon related fact : When I’m not training you will find me coaching for my company EntirePC, studying Economics as I’m in my 6th and final year at university, or on the tools at home, working on our renovation project.
