Published:

ColegauCymru is pleased to confirm that their inclusive FE Multisport Event will return for a fourth year.

Hosted at Pembrey Country Park on Wednesday 15th May 2024, this Duathlon offers an opportunity for all learners and staff in further education settings to participate in their first multisport event at a range of levels. Our previous events have welcomed participants ranging from Independent Learning Skills (ILS) learners enjoying a group activity challenge for the first time through to learners and staff competing at elite level. With over 40% of participants having additional learning needs, the Duathlon provides a fully inclusive approach to further education sport.

ColegauCymru Sport and Active Wellbeing Project Manager Rob Baynham, said,

“With over 400 competitors from colleges across Wales expected to take part, FE Multisport event represents a new direction for competitive sport and events in the FE sector. This format provides one of the few opportunities where learners and staff can compete alongside each other, from beginner through to competitive level.”

Head of Development for Welsh Triathlon Amy Jenner, added,

“At Welsh Triathlon our purpose is to develop a triathlon community that enhances the well-being of current and future generations in Wales, and we’re delighted to be supporting this event once again. The Duathlon offers a format for everyone and is a great example of how learners and staff can benefit from being active.”
